Description
The Museum of London has outgrown its current building and plans to relocate to west Smithfield. Our new site is a group of historic buildings alongside Farringdon Road which were once part of Smithfield Market.
We need highly talented and creative architects to help us adapt the Smithfield buildings so they meet the needs of a 21st century museum, while also preserving the rich history of these great Victorian structures.
We invited architects from all over the world to participate in a competition and shortlisted six practices for the final stage. Their responses are presented in full in this display. The public are invited to leave their comments.
The architectural competition is organised by Malcolm Reading Consultants and supported by the Greater London Authority.
