Chart the route from Fleet Street, the original location of Wren's Temple Bar, to the current position next to St. Paul's.

This 1.5 hour walking tour, led by Alison Rae charts the route from Temple Bar's original location in Fleet Street, to the current position of Wren’s 1672 Temple Bar Gatehouse in Paternoster Square, ending with a special visit to the interior & room above the gateway. You'll learn about connections to Wren, the Law - as construction of Royal Courts of Justice prompted Temple Bar's removal in 1880s; the new Justice Quarter, the press - Fleet Street was home to all of the London newspapers, the early publications that were sold in St Paul’s Churchyard and Stationers’ Hall in Ave Maria Lane and St Bride's as The Journalists' Church.

Alison Rae is a graduate of Open City's Urban Guiding Academy, presenting regular tours themed around Wren in the City, and is also a tutor at Morley College.
