Come and explore the culture and community of the Sussex Modernists in Bloomsbury. Wandering from Two Temple Place to The British Museum, we’ll trace the lives and journeys of artists and writers including Vanessa Bell and Virginia Woolf, David Jones and Eric Gill, Paul Nash and Lee Miller. Along the way we’ll stroll through Fitzroy Square, home of the Omega Workshops, find Faber & Faber Publishers where T.S. Eliot launched literary careers, and visit The Slade, crucible of modern art, loved by some and loathed by others.
Dr Aviva Dautch is a writer and museum educator who has worked in and around Bloomsbury for over fifteen years. She teaches English Literature and Creative Writing at the British Library and her poems, reviews and literary essays are widely published. Aviva is currently collaborating with artist Anna Kiff on a creative project exploring the connections between poetry and sculpture.
