The Future of Money

This event has finished Took place on: Thursday, 16th Feb 2017

 Free

A discussion on The Future of Money as we consider the content of our wallets, the security of online banking and the emergence of Fintech, Bitcoin and other digital currencies.

An expert panel will discuss how these developments impact our daily lives and the banking sectors that administer them. Panel chair, Dr Andrei Kirilenko, who last year launched Imperial's first ever Centre for Global Finance and Technology, will be joined by Victoria Cleland, Chief Cashier of the Bank of England, Jayne-Anne Gadhia, CEO of Virgin Money and Tom Blomfield, CEO of Monzo bank.

The debate forms part of a wider evening of public celebration - Imperial Fringe: Money Matters - which brings together a range of interactive exhibits, hands-on demos and talks from our academics working in the field.
