Founded in 1911, the Society of Genealogists is Britain’s largest family history society. The Society maintains a splendid genealogical library and education centre in Clerkenwell in London.
Our Library is full of family, local and social history treasures and records, directories and databases. We have more than 140,000 items spread over three floors.
Library tours are free to all, last approximately 1½ hours long and must be pre-booked. Advice can be given about how to start your family history research.
Please note that if you would like to undertake research in the library after your tour, you will need to purchase a day search ticket from our reception desk for a small fee.
