In the Dark x Grant Museum of Zoology is a yearlong collaboration celebrating the natural world through sound.
Once scattered all over the British countryside all that is left of a once important part of the landscape are just ghosts, the ghosts of ponds. But what happens when you bring these lost ponds back to the land of the living? Will the common toad, the water vole or the dragonfly find them, and how will we know they are there? Join us for an evening of audio cinema as we explore the sounds of ponds with Helen Greaves (UCL Geography) and sound artist Action Pyramid.
Inspired by Helen’s research into the monitoring of biodiversity of these ponds she has worked with sound artists Action Pyramid to create a soundscape of the sounds of life in this important yet often overlooked habitat.
In the Dark invite you to join them in the Grant Museum after hours and close your eyes for an auditory exploration of the life of ponds.
