Wren's St Paul's is the most important creation that resulted from the Great Fire of 1666.
But there are myths about this building that need debunking, such as the reason that the new building differs in its alignment from the old by about 8 degrees, or the intended incorporation of a large astronomical telescope into the fabric.
In this talk, archaeologist John Schofield will show how the new cathedral rose to dominate the previously destroyed part of the City in which it stands and how St Paul's started on its journey to become the nation's church.
