Rooms evocatively lit with an array of candles and lavishly decorated for Christmas will transport guests back into the Victorian era at our exclusive Christmas evening openings.

Experience Dickens’s beautifully restored former home just as the author would have seen it. Flickering lights illuminate the elegance of the beautifully furnished interiors, the desk where Dickens penned his works and the shadowy chambers of the Victorian basement.

Dickens often wrote into the night by candlelight and was fascinated by the effects created by flames. Guests will be able to surround themselves in what the Victorian writer called ‘a ruddy, homely... glow’ and experience rooms filled with festive greenery, authentic Victorian fayre and the scent of citrus and spice.
