In this first in the Museum’s series of Curator’s Talks, the renowned expert on Heath Robinson and curator of the exhibition Geoffrey Beare will describe Heath Robinson’s engagement with war subjects, how this was translated into the artworks that we see in the exhibition and how the works were received. Geoffrey will also discuss how the popularity of Heath Robinson’s First World War drawings and the wide-ranging post-war societal changes influenced his career path and later works.
The talk runs from 7-8pm. Doors open at 6pm to see the Heath Robinson at War exhibition in the Joan Brinsmead Gallery, the Permanent Exhibition and Shop. These will also be open after the talk till 9pm.
