This event has finished Took place on: Friday, 11th Nov 2016

 Free

In May 1940 Britain stood on the brink of defeat during the Second World War. They turned to one man: Winston Churchill, although not everyone supported him. It was to become the biggest crisis of the early part of World War 2.

This tour will take in the stories behind the events of the month of May 1940 as Germany stormed across Europe and Britain was forced to turn to a different course from the one it had been on.

As part of a series of walks to commemorate rememberance weekend join Jack Yeomanson on this guided walk which will tell you just how close Britain came to being defeated and the Germans winning the war.

The walk will take approximately 1½ hours. For information on travel, please use Transport for London's Journey Planner.
