Join us to discover the stories behind some of the fancy footwear in the Cuming Museum collections
If you love shoes then this is for you. In the 19th century the streets around Borough were full of artisans and manufacturers of all kinds of goods, including shoemaking. Join us to find out more about this ancient industry and see some of the beautiful footwear from the Cuming Museum’s collections.
There are over 300 footwear related artefacts in the collections, from all around the world and from Ancient Egypt to modern times. We’ll be bringing a wide selection for you to look at up close. But sorry folks, you can’t try them on!
