Starting inside ‘The City Centre’, we will explore the City’s ongoing regeneration and the interaction of the historic past with its cluster of 21st century tall buildings.
Our walk will explore the next set of schemes in the City cluster by top architects including PLP Architecture, Eric Parry Architects and KPF. At Bank Junction, the heart of Square Mile, we’ll discover a range of medium height mixed-use developments which are slotted into voids left by redundant Victorian and post World War II buildings. Working with conservation restraints, projects such as Stirling Wilford’s No 1 Poultry and Foster + Partners’ Bloomberg London redefine the City’s prime economic role while emphasising the importance of public realm.
This walk will start and finish at The City Centre, 80 Basinghall Street, EC2V 5AR.
*Please note Walking tours will go ahead whatever the weather and tickets are non refundable / transferable
