Crossrail is transforming London’s town centres from Havering to Hillingdon supporting an estimated total of 57,000 homes and 3.25 million square metres of commercial space. With the first service running in 2018, we look at the impact of Crossrail on outer London areas and how has it is set to serve these communities.
NLA will bring together a multidisciplinary panel of experts to discuss the impact of Crossrail on outer suburban areas of London. How are stations being integrated into the urban fabric of these places? And what lessons have been learned that can be applied to future large-scale infrastructure projects, such as Crossrail 2?
This event coincides with the major exhibition in the NLA galleries: Platform for design, which looks at the integrated design of stations, art and public space that will become part of the Elizabeth line.
