A talk by Mary Gray, whose father, the Rev. James Butterworth, was the founder and leading figure in Clubland, the celebrated youth club on Walworth Road.
From 1922 to 1977 Clubland was a haven and an inspiration for young people and 'JB' or 'Jimmy' Butterworth was its centre. Mary will look at his life and work and will also show 'Loyalty and Service', a film exploring Butterworth and the club’s life and times.
