Victorian Magic Workshop

This event has finished Took place on: Monday, 4th Apr 2016

 Free

The Victorian era was an exciting and significant one for the art of conjuring, with the rise of influential magicians and illusionists such as John Nevil Maskelyne and The Davenport Brothers. This is an extremely rare opportunity to learn tricks of the period from a professional so that you can wow your friends and family at your leisure. Katherine will teach participants how to perform three classic tricks as well as setting them into their context with a performance and talk on magic in Victorian times and its relation to Wilton's Music Hall. Come and find out about legends such as founder of the Magic Circle, David Devant, learn about the link between Victorian magic and spiritualism and marvel at the secrets of The Mysterious Lady.

Katherine is a skilled close up performer and established cabaret/stage magician who has been called to membership of the Inner Magic Circle with Gold Star. She has been performing at Wilton's for several years and has acted as a magical advisor and designer for stage, screen and pop videos.
