Generation Rent

This event has finished Took place on: Tuesday, 29th Mar 2016

 Free

With private renting now the biggest tenure in London, housing is the number one issue at this year’s Mayoral Election.

But there is just one opportunity for the candidates to debate their plans to fix the housing crisis head-to-head, and take questions from ordinary renters.

Generation Rent, PricedOut and Renters’ Rights London are organising a hustings for the five main parties.

We’ll be getting their views on everything from rent controls and building new homes to regulating landlords and paying for it all.

Sian Berry (Green Party) and Peter Whittle (UKIP) have confirmed their attendance. Zac Goldsmith (Conservative), Sadiq Khan (Labour) and Caroline Pidgeon (Liberal Democrat) have been invited.

If you can’t make it, Londonist.com will host a video of the event afterwards.

See what the candidates are promising so far at www.votehomes2016.com.
