Description
The acclaimed Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition premieres at London's Natural History Museum each year before touring more than 60 cities in the UK and across the world. It showcases the award-winning images, bringing the talent and vision of each photographer to all who visit.
This year WPY took a fresh approach to further challenge photographers. New categories encouraged more diverse images and inspired photographers to think differently about the way they tell stories and use new technologies. From intimate portraits to layered motion stills, the award-winners blend startling visuals, compelling narratives, and a passion for the natural world.
The exhibition features more than 100 images exhibited on sleek back-lit photographic panels, creating a uniquely cinematic effect amid the splendour of the Waterhouse Gallery's Victorian architecture.
To celebrate 50 years of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition we are also displaying historic images on interactive tablets as well as a film that tells the story of the competition and the changes in nature photography over the past half century.
