What do young people know about the Holocaust and why does it matter?
The UCL Centre for Holocaust Education is launching its latest major research into what young people in English secondary schools know and understand about the Holocaust.
This major study, the first of it's kind anywhere in the world, involved surveying more than 8,000 school children.
The findings have huge significance for education about the Holocaust both in the UK and internationally. Emerging findings already tell us that large numbers of young people do not understand the role that Britain played during the Holocaust, even after they have studied it at school.
