Ada Lovelace Day Live! 2015

Ada Lovelace Day is an annual celebration of the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering and maths.

Ada Lovelace Day Live! is our flagship ‘science cabaret’ event which this  year will be held at Conway Hall on the evening of 13 October. Playing host to the UK’s most fabulous women in STEM, ALD Live is an entertaining evening of geekery, comedy and music suitable for women and men, and girls and boys over the age of 12. Comic book author Sydney Padua will also be signing copies of her amazing book, The Thrilling Adventures of Lovelace and Babbage, for attendees only. Copies will be available to buy, or you can bring your own! 

Lobby doors open at 6.30pm, the performance will begin at 7.30pm and will run until approximately 9.30pm. There will be a cash bar for refreshments from 6.30pm until the beginning of the performance. 

Ticket sales will close at 11.59pm on Monday 12 October 2015. If there are any left over, you will be able to buy them on the door. If we sell out, we will operate a waiting list. 

Slack Scholarships

Slack, the messaging app for teams, is providing 75 free tickets to Ada Lovelace Day Live 2015, for people who would otherwise not be able to attend. 

We are particularly keen to encourage schools and youth groups who serve disadvantaged communities to apply for tickets. Girls and boys over the age of 12 are welcome, along with their teachers or leaders. Individuals of any age, or parents who would like to bring their children (12 and above), who would otherwise find the ticket price prohibitive are also welcome to apply.

The scholarship covers the cost of the ticket only; we are not able to cover travel expenses. Tickets will be allocated on a mostly first come, first serve basis, but with a priority for attendees under the age of 20.

FAQs

Can I bring my children?

Ada Lovelace Day Live! 2015 is suitable for children aged 12 or over.

Will you finish spot on 9.30pm?

Probably not, no. We try our hardest, but sometimes performers get swept up in the moment and overrun. 

How do I get to Conway Hall?

Conway Hall has details of public transport and other options. 

Is there wheelchair access?

There is ground level access to the Main Hall, lobby area and toilets (including a wheelchair-accessible toilet). While the main floor of the Hall, which holds most of the seats, is accessible, some of the seating is in the balcony, which is up a flight of stairs with no lift. All ticket types are for unreserved seating, so you choose where to sit when you arrive. We are, however, able to offer a limited number of  wheelchair spaces and reserved seats with extra legroom.

Oh, no! I bought a ticket and now I can't come! 

If you find that you can't come to ALD Live! but would like your ticket price to become a donation instead, please email us at admin@findingada.com so that we can release your ticket to someone else. And thank you very much for the donation - we are run on a shoestring and every little helps! 

If you realise before or on 6 October that you can no longer come, we will issue you with a refund (less any fees that we don't get back). Please apply for your refund by emailing admin@findingada.com. 

If you realise after 6 October, we will issue a refund only if there is a waiting list.

Refunds will not be given after Sunday 11 October, 11.59pm.
