Baker St Irregulars: SGUL Pathology & Forensic Medicine Society invite you to attend our inaugural event: 'A Study in Scarlet: From Crime Scene to Courthouse.' The evening will comprise of a number of interesting and thought-provoking talks:

'Forensic Anthropology in the Real World' - Professor Sue Black. Professor Black is a leading forensic anthropologist and the director of the Centre for Anatomy and Human Identification at Dundee University. Her forensic expertise has been crucial to a number of high-profile criminal cases, including the conviction of Scotland’s largest paedophile ring in 2009. In 1999 she headed the British Forensic Team’s exhumation of mass graves in Kosovo.

'Case Study: To Catch a Killer' - Detective Chief Inspector David Reid. DCI Reid is a commanding officer for the London Metropolitan Police Homicide and Serious Crime squad. He leads Met. forensic teams responsible for processing crime scenes throughout the city.

'Current Research in Clinical Forensic Science'- Dr Jason Payne-James. Dr Payne-James is a forensic physician in active clinical practice as a Forensic Medical Examiner. He has collaborated with various bodies including the London Metropolitan Police and is an advisor to government and other agencies in the UK and abroad. As well being an expert witness he is an Honorary Consultant at the Departments of Adult and Paediatric Emergency Medicine at St George’s and President of the Faculty of Forensic & Legal Medicine (Royal College of Physicians).
