Twelfth Night, the Undead, and the Possession of Malvolio

This event has finished Took place on: Monday, 12th Oct 2015

 Free

While Shakespeare's Balkan-set comedy includes all the usual hallmarks of his lighter works: shipwrecks, cross-dressing and mistaken identity, as we approach Halloween Jon Kaneko-James returns to The Rose to discuss the Jacobean understanding of the Twelfth Night: a time of ghosts and the blurring of the barriers between the living and the dead.

Not only that, but Jon will be discussing the highly publicised possession of Robert Brigges, a Middle Temple Lawyer and one of the sources behind Shakespeare's Malvolio.

Lectures start at 7.30pm lasting approximately 60 minutes with a short Q+A
