Technological innovation is developing rapidly, especially in the field of artificial intelligence. Tasks that were the domain of human beings are witnessing the acceleration of autonomous machines and other forms of non-human intelligence. These raise a number of important ethical and legal questions, based on issues such as agency, liability and regulation, that will become contentious in the future.
As part of the 'Artificial Intelligence, Ethics and Law' series, Westminster Law School will be hosting a lively public debate with the following distinguished and renowned roboticists, ethicists and lawyers on the future of artificial intelligence:
Joanna Bryson, University of Bath, Princeton Center for Information Technology Policy @j2bryson
John Flood, McCann FitzGerald Professor of International Law and Business at UCD; Visiting Professor, Westminster Law School @JohnAFlood
Chrissie Lightfoot, CEO of EntrepreneurLawyer, Author of Tomorrows Naked Lawyer: NewTech, NewHuman, NewLaw @TheNakedLawyer
