Tours of Isleworth Ait nature reserve on the River Thames

London Wildlife Trust is offering a very rare chance to access the Isleworth Ait nature reserve, an island on the Thames, on the afternoon of Sunday 20th September as part of Totally Thames and TideFest 2015.

Isleworth Ait is a very special nature reserve, with very limited access. The island provides an undisturbed sanctuary for birds such as treecreeper, kingfisher and heron, beetles and rare molluscs such as the German hairy snail.

Places for these guided tours are strictly limited due to the need to protect wildlife and habitats on the island.

Access is by boat so regrettably there is no disabled access. No children under five or unaccompanied children under 16. Appropriate footwear such as wellingtons boots or walking boots must be worn. In the event of high winds or adverse river conditions the event will be cancelled and booking payments refunded.

Places to be booked in advance and limited to three groups of eight people. Each tour will take approximately one hour. Ticket price £10.00 including ferry crossing and guided tour. We regret we are unable to accept cancellations or issue refunds unless we are forced to cancel the event due to the weather or unforeseen circumstances. 

Timings: 1.45pm, 2.15pm and 2.45pm
Cost: £10.00 per person.

Tours are led by unpaid volunteers from the Isleworth Ait conservation group. Any profits will go towards nature conservation work on the island.
