Come and explore a secret place on the River Thames – visit Oliver's Island as part of TideFest 2015
In the middle of the Thames lies a secret place, hidden by a tree canopy that protects what lies underneath. By kind permission of the Port of London Authority, a lucky few who will stand where prehistoric people once lived, and trace the use of the island over the past centuries.
Now an island inhabited by birds, evidence of its earlier use can still be seen so come and visit this hidden place and view the world from the middle of the Thames!
Oliver’s Island is located off Strand on the Green, London W4 (meeting place – on the path in front of 41 Strand on the Green, W4 for transportation by boat and remember not to be late on the day or you will miss the trip!). Wear footgear and clothing suitable for muddy environments!
There will be three guided tours on Sunday 20th September, each for up to ten people at 2.50pm, 3.20pm and 3.50pm. Suitable for late teens/adults
