All Aboard Tarporley! Canal Boat Trip

This event has finished Took place on: Saturday, 12th Sep 2015

 Free

Get on board and enjoy a chilled out ride down the canal and through the locks on Tarporley, the community narrowboat.

When you take a trip along the Regent's Canal on historic narrowboat Tarporley, you don't just have to sit and watch the scenery go by – you can explore the boat and help work the locks too if you're feeling energetic. We will take you through the Islington Tunnel and you will get the chance to see at first-hand how a lock operates as we make our way to City Road Basin and back again.

We take a maximum of twelve passengers, and crew members are always on hand to answer any questions. Tarporley was built in 1937 for the Grand Union Canal Carrying Company, later became one of Britains first community narrow boats, and now has a permanent mooring at Kings Place. Life jackets are provided for children and for adults who require them. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
