Sympathy and expression: the paintings of Cornelius Johnson

This illustrated talk by art historian Karen Hearn gives a fascinating insight into the work of renowned 17th century artist Cornelius Johnson (or Janssen). His portraits include the depiction of Lady Anne Fanshawe as a young woman which is in Valence House’s own collection. Karen curates an exhibition of Johnson’s work at the National Portrait Gallery in April 2015.

Tickets are £5 and advance booking is essential at Valence House reception (020 8227 2034).
