The Eighth Wonder Of The World

A site specific performance in the extraordinary Brunel tunnel shaft under the Thames built by Marc and Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Dubbed 'the eighth wonder of the world' when it opened, the shaft is half the size of Shakespeare's Globe yet twice as astounding.

Ticket price includes the play, entry to the shaft, museum and entry to the pottage garden. The play is approximately 1 hour long including an interval.

A thrilling new one act play written by Nick Harrison ('Regarding X'/ The Devil to Pay on Brook Street') and directed by Martin Parr (Best Director nomination for Hamlet) The relationship between father and son has reached boiling point: Marc: powerful yet bankrupt is confronted by his son Isambard: a man of the people and the future who may just have the answer to his father's dilemma...

Set on the eve of one of the most important dates in the Brunel's lives...stakes are high and tensions are higher...
