Talk by Kate Wigley, Archivist and Commercial Manager at the Warner Textile Archives,
Warner Textile archives holds Englands second largest collection of flat textiles; over 100,000 items, inlcuding 60,000 textiles and 10,000 paper records. The Royal connection is truly impressive, with many silks being supplied to Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle for hangings, curtains and upholstery. The then company Warner & Son wove silks not only for interiors, but for Royal weddings, including the silk stin train of Queen Elizabeth II's wedding dress.
