Open Studios (East): Making of the Science Museum......Gallery

Universal Design Studio will be showcasing the making of the Science Museum’s Information Age Gallery. The exhibition aims to show the full ‘work in progress’ of the three and a half year project to design a permanent gallery space for one of the world’s leading cultural institutions.

The landmark gallery explores the remarkable impact of communications technology, revealing the personal stories behind over 200 years of inventions throughout a 2,500m2 exhibition space. Universal’s scope includes the architectural framework, bespoke exhibits, showcases and displays.

Through scale models, working drawings, CAD and video our exhibition will show how this project has been designed and developed.

In addition to ‘the Making of the Science Museum’s Information Age Gallery’, we will also be showcasing a mix of project work from our wider design studio - Map (industrial design) and Barber & Osgerby.
