Cameron Sinclair’s book title neatly sums up the passion and purpose of public interest design, a movement which has evolved to help meet human needs globally. This NLA PechaKucha night seeks to highlight key projects and London based practitioners to illustrate the impact of these interventions. What are the successes of this movement as a new approach to poverty alleviation and sustainable development?
NLA PechaKucha is open for anyone to attend. Speakers will be asked to respond to the PechaKucha challenge – to present for just 6 minutes 40 seconds each (20 slides x 20 seconds) on how the public interest design approach can be employed to create positive social, environmental and economic change within communities, in London and globally.
Speakers include:
Julia King, independent researcher (Chair)
Mona Sloane, Project Manager, Configuring Light/Staging the Social, LSE
Jo Ashbridge, Director, AzuKo
Tim Gledstone, Partner, Squire and Partners
Isis Nunez Ferrera, Associate, Architecture sans Frontieres
Rachel Sayers, Partner, FCB Studios/Richard Fielden Foundation
