In 1844 Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin began the Grange at Ramsgate as a home for his family. The following year he founded the neighbouring Catholic church of St Augustine, completing it in 1850.
After long neglect, the house has been painstakingly restored by the Landmark Trust. Caroline Stanford, the Trust’s historian, explains the genesis of the site and updates us on the latest developments in the rescue of this exceptional Gothic Revival landscape.
Doors open at 6pm. Wine will be available before the lectures (not included in ticket prices).
