The Teddington Christmas Lantern Procession 2014 at Teddington

Following the success of Teddington’s first ever Christmas Lantern Procession last year,
sponsored and managed by the Teddington Business Community (TBC) and supported
by Teddington and The Hamptons Rotary Club we are looking forward to you joining us
for our second year.
It takes place on Sunday 14th December from 4pm onwards in and around Broad Street.
Local children from the Schools, Brownies, Junior rugby club and Pony club, as well as
other local groups such as Stepping on Out, are already starting to make their own ‘star
shaped’ lanterns which they will be parading on the night.
The Christmas Lantern Procession will be led by Santa on his Rotary Sleigh, pulled
along by the Teddington Rugby team and followed up by the Park Lane Stable ponies
and elves.
Children will also be able to meet Santa in his Grotto as well as Elsa and Anna from
Disney Frozen at ‘Play Inside Out’ from 1.30pm until 4pm and there will be food, drink
and gift offerings for everyone throughout the area until 8pm.
The procession will set off from the Teddington Memorial Hospital end of Broad Street,
parade along the road into The Causeway then across Broad Street into Church Road.
It will finish outside of the Baptist Church in Church Road where everyone will be invited
to join in ‘Carols by Candlelit Lantern’.
Broad Street will reopen to traffic at 6pm and Church Road and The Causeway will
remain closed until 8pm.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Teddington charity ‘Stepping on Out’ and
Teddington and The Hamptons Rotary Club for their local charities.
