Join our series of open philosophy discussions to explore concepts, events and ideas that change the way we think.
Noam Chomsky warns us: “State propaganda, when supported by the educated classes and when no deviation is permitted from it, can have a big effect. It was a lesson learned by Hitler and many others, and it has been pursued to this day.” What is the role of propaganda, in war as well as in peace? How free are we to disagree with the Establishment? Are our minds moulded into agreement?
The discussion will be chaired by Anja Steinbauer, president of Philosophy for All, co-editor of Philosophy Now and co-founder of the London School of Philosophy. Anja also teaches Philosophy at Bishopsgate Institute.
