This will be a family event providing visitors with a rare and behind-the-scenes glimpse of their local police and see some of the specialist units, equipment and resources that the MPS has at its disposal.

Visitors and residents will also be able to talk to local Police Officers about policing in their area.

The main event and displays will be held in Barking Town Square outside Barking Town Hall, Barking, IG11 between 10am-3pm. Members of the public can also attend the new Police office within the Barking Learning Centre in Barking Town Centre where they will be greeted by Borough Police Officers who will talk about their different roles.

They will also get a chance to see a wide range of activities including displays from our specialist departments that include public order demonstrations, MPS Dogs Unit, handling of protective equipment, video displays of MSC Met Police Careers, community safety and crime prevention, fingerprint taking, response policing, vintage cars, police artifacts and “PC Lee” and the other MPS mascots may also make an appearance! For the kids there will also be free face painting and a bouncy castle to add to the enjoyment of the day.
