Louise Walker is a senior advisor on Afghanistan and Pakistan for the UK Department for International Development (DfID). She is currently serving in USAID's Office of Afghanistan and Pakistan Affairs where she advises principally on regional connectivity issues including trade and energy. She served as head of DFID's Private Sector and Infrastructure portfolio in Afghanistan from 2011. Prior to joining DFID she was a senior management consultant advising C-level clients of Fortune 100 companies and the World Bank Group on strategy, large scale change and monitoring and performance management. Louise holds a PhD in Politics and International Studies from Warwick University, a MBA from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from York University (Canada). In January, Louise will take up post as Head of DFID's Economic Growth Portfolio in Pakistan.
