2014 marks the tercentenary of the Longitude Act (1714).
Historian Peter Daniel tells the story of Sir Cloudsley Shovell, Lord of the Manor of Crayford and Admiral of England, whose tragic death in 1708 instigated the Longitude Act. Shovell's links with Chislehurst and the Marsham Townsend family will be revealed.
Tickets can be purchased from Bromley Local Studies and Archives in person or by post. Note that tickets are non-refundable.
